Preparation does most of the work

Exterior walls are cleaned, allowed to dry fully, repaired where needed, and primed with a product suited to the surface — stucco, block, and wood each want something different. Paint applied over chalky or damp masonry will lift no matter how good the artwork is.

Paint chosen for UV, not just for color

Colors are mixed from exterior-grade, lightfast paints. Some pigments fade far faster in Florida sun than others, so a palette is built with longevity in mind — which sometimes means reaching a hue a slightly different way than an indoor mural would.

Sealing against salt and rain

Finished exterior murals get a UV-resistant protective clear coat. It shields the pigment, sheds rain, and lets the wall be rinsed clean instead of scrubbed. Sealing also needs a dry weather window, which is why outdoor projects are scheduled around the forecast.

Keeping it looking new

Care is simple and makes a real difference over the life of the mural.

• Rinse gently with a hose once or twice a year — no pressure washer on the artwork
• Keep sprinkler heads aimed away from the wall
• Trim plants so they are not rubbing the surface
• Address any wall leak or crack early, before it reaches the paint
