Vacation Rental Murals: A Space Coast Host's Secret Weapon
Guests scrolling rental listings in Cocoa Beach, Melbourne Beach, and Merritt Island choose with their eyes, and a hand-painted mural is the one feature a listing photo cannot be borrowed from the neighbor's unit.
Why murals earn their keep in a rental
A mural gives a unit an identity guests remember and photograph. In a market full of similar condos and coastal cottages, a signature wall shows up in guest photos, gets mentioned in reviews, and makes a listing look custom rather than furnished from a flat-pack catalog.
It is also a one-time cost with no furniture to replace, no subscription, and nothing a guest can break. A painted wall wipes clean between turnovers.
Where hosts put them
Most rental murals go where the camera goes — the wall behind the bed or sofa that anchors every listing photo.
- Headboard walls — an ocean horizon or pier scene behind the main bed
- Entry walls — the first thing guests see when they walk in
- Outdoor showers, patios, and pool fences — the spaces that make guests extend their stay
- Kids' corners in family rentals — sea turtles and reef scenes that earn five-star family reviews
What to plan for before commissioning
Timing is the first decision. Murals are scheduled between turnovers or in shoulder season, and interior walls are usually ready to book again within a day or two of the final coat.
Palette matters more in a rental than a private home: scenes in the same tones as the unit's bedding and flooring photograph consistently, which keeps the whole listing looking intentional. Durability is built in — a hand-painted wall can be spot-cleaned the way any well-painted wall can.
Booking a mural between guests
Send a photo of the wall and the listing, and Larisa will propose concepts that fit your unit and your booking calendar. Call or text (718) 844-7191 to talk through timing for your Brevard County rental.
